Sprouting Beans, Seeds and Pulses

Beans and seeds are highly nutritious foods which also offer some properties for menopause remedies.

A great way to eat beans, seeds and pulses is to sprout them yourself. Certain nutrients, especially vitamins, can be increased up to fivefold by sprouting, and bean or seed sprouts are also true living foods, with a huge potential in terms of raw vital energy.

To sprout your own beans you will need a seed sprouter, a series of stacking trays – made from clear perspex or glass – with drainage holes and a base tray to catch the water as it drains through. These, along with the seeds themselves, can be bought from health-food shops.

Sprinkle a handful of seeds into each of the trays. You can use one type of seed or pulse per tray, or mix them. Stack the trays one on top of the other, and pour on the water, which will then filter through the layers into the base tray (remember to empty the base tray afterwards).

Place the trays on a windowsill in your kitchen, or anywhere that allows them to receive abundant natural light.

Water twice daily, and you should see the first shoots coming up within two or three days.

You can also use a standard jar to sprout your seeds. Cover the bottom of the jar with seeds or pulses, and then use an elastic band to secure a piece of fine cotton muslin or cheesecloth over the top of the jar. The water can be poured in through the cotton,

Finding effective natural menopause remedies is all about finding healthy foods that boost health and can help with the side effects of conditions like menopause.
